One Ton Less campaign’s aim is to open possibilities of reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions
Malene Kauffmann Hansen from Danish Energy Agency explains: “The benefit for the businesses is that by participating in the campaign they can show responsibility in relation to the climate issue”. If people reduce their emissions of CO2, it will reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere in the long run, helping to establish propitious climate.
Although the number of participating businesses is suffice, One Ton Less campaign has faced criticism: Mads Engberg, the representative of Danish Federation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, remarks that “for more effective results the campaign should address the largest polluters”.
